Figured Out Page Created

May 30th, 2016 by

Over eight years I was a major action figure collector. Marvel Legends had changed the whole action figure hobby. Six inch scale, which is considered a one to one scale based off a six foot man being a standard superhero height. The sculpting was great, the articulation was incredible, and the figures looked like the comic book characters they were based off of.

Toyfare was a magazine dedicated to toys, and published by Wizard Entertainment. In the magazine, the publishers had Twisted Toyfare Theater, which were six or eight page stories laid out in comic book format. Some were funny, some not so funny, but the stories used Mego Action Figures (Dolls).

Inspired and always looking for a reason to interact (play) with my action figures, I decided to create my own online action figure comic. I built some custom figures, and created scale furniture, as well as props out of cardboard, and various other forms of paper. It would center around a bar called the Unknown which was owned by Thanos. My homemade Hercules figure was the main bartender. Wrote the story, shot each panel with a digital camera, did some photoshop work, and plugged the information into a javascript slideshow.

Each month I released a new comic of various lengths. 48 comics later, I decided to end the comic. I was running out of story ideas. Along the way, I changed the name of the comic from Unknown to Figured Out. The new title was a play on words.

Now that I have relaunched my website, and managed to sustain it for a length of time, I decided to add a page with all the comics. Just click on the number, and slide through each page.

Enjoy responsibly. Binge read if you want.

Because of the dictates of life, and the fact that I sold off 90% of my action figures, I have toyed with relaunching Figured Out. If it happens, it happens.

Thanks for stopping by.
